The City is currently reviewing its Register of Significant Trees. As you have indicated an interest in significant trees within the city, you are invited to comment on the existing register and nominate new trees for possible inclusion.

The Register of Significant Trees was adopted by the City in 2005. It is an important tool for the planning and protection of significant trees in the city. It aims to identify significant trees and guide their management to ensure their protection.

Over the next few months an assessment of each existing tree in the City’s register will be conducted to review the trees currently listed, update listings, and identify additional trees for inclusion.

A revised register will then be placed on public exhibition early next year. You will be contacted again at this point and advised how you can review the document and make any further submission.

To view the Register of Significant Trees and to make a nomination for a new tree to be added, please fill out the online form at sydneyyoursay.com.au Please provide your nomination by 30 September 2012.

For further information, please contact the Tree Management team on 02 9265 9333 or treepolicies@cityofsydney.nsw.gov.au
Yours sincerely,
